The buzz word is “technology” when it comes to new car design. Therefore, all car manufactures are looking for ways to implement the latest technology into their most recent vehicle models, the Ford Motor Company is no exception. Of course, thinking creatively is not new to Ford. Henry Ford was a success in large part due to his out of the box thinking and innovative production methods. He first introduced moving assembly lines for creating vehicles in 1914, a method now known as “Fordism”. This may have been the single most major event in the auto industry that fueled the modern industrial era.
History of the Ford Motor Company
The Ford story is perhaps the greatest contribution to US success of any company in American history. And Santa Fe Ford may be the greatest Ford dealership in American history, especially if you are searching for used cars in Gainesville Florida. The Ford Motor company was started in Detroit, Michigan, by Henry Ford. The Model A, which was the first car Ford produced that was marketed to the public, was released in 1903 and sold for a whopping $850.
During the 1960s, competition in the car market increased forcing Ford to yet again think outside of the box in order to remain one of the top car manufacturers. During this time, Ford released some of the company’s best loved cars including the 1964 Ford Mustang, which sold for $2,408. The car was a huge success as Ford sold over 500,000 models in the first year and a half the car was on the market.
Since successfully creating well liked automobiles such as the Falcon, Galaxie, Fairlane, Mustang, Model T and the Thunderbird, the Ford company increased its repertoire when it began producing all terrain vehicles such as the Ranger, F series trucks and the Bronco.
Technology advancements in Ford design
The Ford Motor Company understands the importance of embracing new design and technologies thanks in part to its innovative founder Henry Ford. The MyFord Touch is one of the latest installments of technology into Ford vehicles. MyFord Touch is a driver aid that has collision warning, brake support and adaptive cruise control. Another technologically advanced feature being incorporated in modern Fords is the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS). This works by alerting a driver when other vehicles are present within their blind spot. The Intelligent Access, which has been implemented into many new Fords, offers remote start technology, push-button start, rain-sensing wipers, power-fold mirrors, a telescoping steering column and rear inflatable belts. Ford also is implementing SYNC, which is a voice-controlled connectivity available in new models.
Ford has launched 60 new technologies in recent years. However, Ford SYNC and MyFord Touchhave been the most effective at helping the company acquire new buyers. These two technologies are now present in 75 percent of all new Ford vehicles. Owners of Fords with the aforementioned technologies claim greater overall owner satisfaction. Moreover, these innovations in design have made Fords more popular with a younger audience as it appeals to the tech-savvy Gen Y and Gen X buyers. Of course, even individuals in older generations appreciate the new safety features and the abundance of innovative technologies Ford is offering.
Ford Motor Company has been an avant-garde company from its inception. After all, Ford was responsible for many of the assembly practices vehicle manufacturers use even today, which were unheard of in that time. In addition, Henry Ford understood how to mold vehicles’ design to fit the desires of his customers. Today, the public wants technology and the Ford Motor Company has yet again risen to the challenge. Their inclusion of cutting edge technologies into their modern vehicle designs has helped them remain one of the top car manufacturers in the world.
